2011 Drinks Competition
For the first time, due to demand, we ran both an Ales, Lagers & Ciders competition together with a Waters & Soft Drinks competition.
The standard of entries for the blind tasting seems to improve year on
year, so any winners in a much bigger field should be congratulated as
in some classes we had over 40 entries. We also had a number of new entrants
to this year's competition, some of whom have recorded maiden wins so
many congratulations to those firms.
Interestingly again this year virtually all the products were in glass bottles with the exception of two of the Aston Manor entries who entered their products in their exclusive aluminium bottle. So striking was the pack that they also won a Gold Medal in the packaging field.
All the winners are worthy of mention, but a special note should be made of The Gleeson Group. Their remarkable Tipperary Water has been winning awards for many years making the The Gleeson Group the most decorated entrant in the BBI awards.
The winners this year received their medals and certificates at the BBI Gala Awards Dinner on Thursday 20th October at The Vintners' Hall in London.
