| Judging will take place on 18th September 2007, in Bedford.
The competition is open to all UK and Foreign Producers, Bottlers, Canners and Packers of Soft Drinks, Mineral and Spring Waters.
‘Gold’ and ‘Silver’ Medals and Diplomas for Excellence will be awarded in each Class.

Entries for packaging alone will be accepted. Products entered in any of the Classes may also be entered, on payment of an additional fee, to be separately judged for the best dressed Packaging Classes.

Presentation of awards
The Awards for the 2007 Competition will be presented at the BBI Gala Awards Dinner, to be held at Vintners’ Hall, London on Monday 19th November 2007.
Tickets are available now at a cost of;
£115.00 + VAT per head for BBI Members and their guests.
£135.00 + VAT per head for non-BBI Members and their guests.

Rules and Conditions
1. The competition will be judged by a panel of experts during an anonymous, independent blind tasting.
2. A ‘Gold’ Medal and Certificate will be awarded for the outstanding product(s) in each Class, and a ‘Silver’ Medal and Certificatewill be
awarded to the runner(s) up. Diplomas of Excellence will be awarded for other especially meritorious products in each Class. The Judges
have the right to withhold any prize or award if they consider there is insufficient merit.
ONLY THE NAMES OF WINNING COMPETITORS WILL BE PUBLISHED AFTER THE EVENT
3. Awards to entry winners will be formally made at a ceremony to be held at Vintners’ Hall, London on Monday 19th November 2007.
Awards for winners unable to attend will subsequently be forwarded.
4. The entry fee is £95 + VAT for a competitor’s first entry to any of the categories and £70 + VAT for each additional entry. VAT is charged
at 17.5 %. There is no limit to the number of entries.
5. Any product entered for the blind tasting may be entered in the packaging classes Q, R, S, T and U upon payment of a supplementary
single entry fee of £50 + VAT for each Packaging Class (not product) entered. For entries for Packaging alone, the fees are as in Rule 4
above.
6. Each competitor must send a total of 6 bottles, cans or cartons for each product entered. Three of these bottles, cans or cartons must
have no distinguishing marks whatsoever on the bottle, can, carton, lid or seal except a small stick-on numerical identity label supplied by
the BBI Competition Organiser. The other three bottles, cans or cartons must be normally dressed products as sold on the open market.
All samples are non-returnable. Additional samples are not required for entries to the Packaging Classes Q, R, S, T and U if entered for
blind tasting.
7. Samples must be despatched to The BBI Waters and Soft Drinks Competition 2007, c/o Aetna UK Ltd, Packaging Heights,
Units 7 & 8, Highfield Parc, Highfield Road, Oakley, Bedford MK43 7TA (Tel: +44 (0)7711 114692) to arrive between Monday 10th
September and Thursday 13th September 2007, during normal working hours. Packages must be clearly marked ‘BBI Competition2007’
with the name of the competitor and Class entered.
8. The British Bottlers’ Institute cannot be held responsible for the loss or late arrival of samples.
9. Packing, freight charges, duty and VAT are to be paid by competitors. Overseas competitors are responsible for all charges up to delivery
at the delivery point, together with any currency exchange commission or other charges, including those levied in the UK.
