BBI Annual Competition
The 2005 Waters and Soft Drinks competition will take place on 20th September with entries to be submitted by 19th August. There are 12 product classes and 3 classes for packaging and application forms with full details have been circulated to members. We ask our members to encourage any potential companies to enter this well established competition. Gold and Silver medals as well as certificates will be presented at the Gala Awards Dinner.
BBI Gala Awards Dinner
The BBI Gala Awards Dinner for 2005 will be held on Monday, 14th November at the Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London, following the general format that was successful last year with some improvements based on feedback from attendees. Dinner ticket price will be £95.00 + vat
and Dennis Taylor has been booked to present awards. Sponsorship for some elements of the dinner is being proposed and details are to be circulated, any suggestions from members will be welcome.
BBI Visits
Members have recently visited O-I at Harlow, Shepherd Neame at Faversham, Fuller, Smith and Turner at Chiswick and Interbrew at Magor. The standard and content of these visits were excellent and we thank the hosts for the time and effort in making BBI members very welcome.
BBI Website
The BBI website has been modified, a new section entitled BBI News has been established, and it is now possible to display general news as well as submitting your own news in the Members News section. Please contact Brian Gibbs if you would like further information on the facilities available.

BBI Organisation
After recent changes the organisation stands as follows:
National Chairman – Colin Barker
Leadership of the Institute, responsible for the effective organisation.
Section Coordinators consult with National Chairman.
Convening and chairing Management Group and Council meetings.
Secretary and Honorary Treasurer – John Yates
Overseeing the finances of the Institute, its membership database, general administration and liasing with the appointed Accountant and Bookkeeper.
National Vice-Chairman – John Yates
Deputising for National Chairman. Developing initiatives to enlarge involvement and increase membership.
Dinner Organiser – Andrew Broadbent
Organising the Annual Gala Awards Dinner.
Membership Co-ordinator – Cedric Pettitt
Reviewing membership and recruiting new members.
Competition Organiser – Barry Wilson
Organising the Annual Competition.
Website & Events Co-ordinator – Brian Gibbs
Maintaining and updating Website. Coordinating Events programme.
