| The BBI have recently supported a two-day series of seminars jointly sponsored by Regina International Ltd and Du Pont plc given to discuss their 'Delrin with Kevlar' material.
This material is used by Regina within the manufacture of their slat chain and modular belt ranges to offer the Beverage industry a potentially lubricant free solution on their production lines.
The purpose of the seminar was to present the qualities of this material and how it can be successfully used. Technical details of the material and its application were described to the delegates as well as benefits such as dry running and longer chain life.
A number of case studies from various locations in Europe were presented in order to demonstrate the conversion of production lines to dry condition and how this was achieved at line speeds of up to 40,000 bottles per hour.
A wide cross section of the industry attended, including consultants, conveyor builders and end-users that also heard that other benefits of its use include noise reduction and reduced wear resulting in lower production costs when converting from the atypical use of steel slat chain.
The material has been marketed by Regina in both Europe and the USA gaining widespread acceptance both for its problem solving ability and durability.
Following the high level of interest shown at these seminars there are already plans to repeat them in 2005 either on a regional basis or at individual companies that have multiple sites. Further details will be available early next year by contacting either your regional BBI Coordinator or Ian Crosby @ Regina Intl Ltd on 01254 661116.
